Possible Causes

Metal utensil contacting Evergrind shredder ring, Loose screw or hardware inside Evergrind chamber, Broken glass pieces in Evergrind grinding plate area, Dislodged Evergrind baffle allowing objects in

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the wall switch and unplug or disconnect power. Never reach into the Evergrind chamber with your hand.

  • Remove splash guard: Lift out the Evergrind rubber splash baffle from the sink opening if it is removable.
  • Locate object: Use a flashlight to inspect the grinding chamber. Use tongs or needle-nose pliers to remove any foreign objects (spoons, bottle caps, screws, glass).
  • Rotate plate manually: Insert a wooden dowel or the Evergrind wrench from below to rotate the turntable and expose hidden objects.
  • Reinstall baffle and test: Replace the Evergrind splash guard, restore power, run water, and briefly operate the unit. Noise should be normal.
  • If noise persists with no objects found: The shredder ring or impellers may be damaged; consider replacing the Evergrind disposer.
