Possible Causes
Extended run time of Evergrind motor under heavy load, Partially seized Evergrind motor bearings, Shorted Evergrind stator windings, Blocked ventilation around Evergrind housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the Evergrind unit immediately and switch off the breaker if you smell burning.
- Allow cooling: Leave the Evergrind unit off for at least 30–45 minutes to cool. Do not repeatedly reset and restart.
- Check for jams: With power OFF, use the Evergrind wrench to ensure the turntable spins freely. Remove any obstructions from the chamber.
- Inspect ventilation: Ensure cleaning supplies or items are not packed tightly around the Evergrind housing, blocking heat dissipation.
- Test briefly: After cooling, press the reset button and test with a small amount of water only. If burning smell returns quickly, discontinue use.
- Replace unit if smell persists: Persistent burning odor indicates motor insulation damage; replace the Evergrind disposer.
