Possible Causes
Shorted Evergrind wall switch contacts, Miswired Evergrind switch loop, Shared neutral or backfeed in Evergrind circuit, Stuck relay in Evergrind air switch kit (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker feeding the Evergrind disposal. Do not leave a self-activating unit energized.
- Inspect wall switch: Remove the switch cover and verify that the Evergrind hot feed and load wires are on the correct terminals. Replace the switch if it feels loose or sticks.
- Check for backfeed: Ensure the Evergrind disposal is on its own switch leg and not tied into a three-way or multi-switch circuit incorrectly.
- Air switch systems: If using an Evergrind countertop air switch, inspect the air tubing for water intrusion and the control box for stuck relays. Replace the air switch kit if faulty.
- Test after repair: Restore power and verify the Evergrind unit only runs when commanded.
