Possible Causes
Food residue on Evergrind splash baffle, Sludge buildup on Evergrind shredder ring and chamber walls, Grease accumulation in Evergrind discharge elbow, Bacteria growth in P-trap below Evergrind
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the Evergrind unit before cleaning.
- Clean splash baffle: Remove the Evergrind rubber baffle and scrub both sides with hot, soapy water and a brush. Rinse and reinstall.
- Deodorize chamber: Pour a mixture of baking soda and vinegar into the Evergrind chamber. Let it foam for 10–15 minutes, then flush with hot water while briefly running the unit.
- Ice and citrus: Grind a tray of ice cubes with small citrus peels (lemon/orange) to help clean the shredder ring.
- Clean P-trap: If odor persists, remove and clean the P-trap and horizontal drain line below the Evergrind unit.
