Possible Causes
Moisture on Evergrind wiring connections, Damp Evergrind motor housing, Cracked Evergrind insulation on cord, Water splashing into Evergrind air switch box (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the GFCI and breaker before inspection.
- Inspect for leaks: Check all Evergrind plumbing connections and sink flange for drips onto the unit or wiring. Repair leaks first.
- Dry area: Allow the Evergrind housing and junction box to dry completely. Use a fan to improve air circulation.
- Check cord and box: Inspect the Evergrind power cord and junction box for signs of moisture, corrosion, or damage. Replace damaged components.
- Test GFCI: Reset the GFCI and test the Evergrind unit. If trips continue without visible moisture, the motor insulation may be compromised and the disposer should be replaced.
