Garbage disposal makes a low humming noise when switched on but the grinding plate does not spin.

Safety first: Turn OFF the switch and breaker. Never put your hand into the disposal.

• Use the reset button: Press the red overload reset button on the bottom of the Franke unit.
• Free the rotor: Insert the correct Allen key into the bottom shaft socket and rotate back and forth until it moves freely.
• Remove debris: From the sink opening, use tongs or pliers to remove any visible objects (utensils, bones, fruit pits).
• Test with water: Restore power, run cold water, and briefly turn the unit on. If it spins freely, let it run for 30 seconds to clear remaining debris.
