Garbage disposal will not start unless the reset button is pressed each time before use.

Safety first: Turn OFF power before accessing the bottom of the unit.

• Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the disposer for cooling and that insulation or stored items are not blocking airflow.
• Light-load test: Run the disposer with only water and no food. If the overload still trips frequently, the protector or motor is likely faulty.
• Inspect wiring to overload: If accessible, check that the wires to the overload device are secure.
• Replace overload or unit: On many Franke models, the overload is integrated into the motor assembly. Replace the Franke disposer motor unit if nuisance tripping continues.
