Possible Causes
Loose dishwasher hose clamp, Cracked dishwasher inlet nipple on Franke disposer, Missing rubber dishwasher inlet gasket, Unremoved knockout plug on new installation causing back-leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power and do not run the dishwasher until the leak is fixed.
- Inspect hose and clamp: Tighten the hose clamp at the Franke dishwasher inlet. Replace the clamp if it is rusted or deformed.
- Check for cracks: Examine the plastic or metal inlet nipple on the disposer for cracks. If cracked, the disposer body may need replacement.
- Verify knockout removal: On new installations, ensure the internal knockout plug inside the dishwasher inlet has been fully removed. If not, remove the hose, knock out the plug with a screwdriver and hammer, and remove the loose piece from inside the disposer.
- Replace gasket: If water seeps around the inlet, install a new Franke dishwasher inlet gasket if your model uses one.
