Possible Causes

Deteriorated sink flange gasket, Loose Franke mounting ring, Insufficient plumber's putty under flange, Corroded sink flange

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power and unplug the disposal before loosening the mounting assembly.

  • Confirm leak source: Fill the sink with water and observe from below to ensure the leak is at the sink flange, not from side connections.
  • Remove disposal: Support the Franke unit from below and rotate the mounting ring counterclockwise to release it from the sink flange.
  • Reseat flange: From above, remove the sink flange, clean old putty or gasket, and apply fresh plumber's putty or install a new Franke sink flange gasket as specified.
  • Reinstall and tighten: Reinsert the flange, tighten the mounting hardware evenly, then remount the disposal and test for leaks.
