Garbage disposal runs but water splashes back out of the sink opening; food particles and water spray upward.

Safety first: Turn off the disposal before reaching near the sink opening.

• Step 1 – Inspect splash guard: Look at the rubber baffle at the sink opening. If it is missing, torn, or deformed, it will not contain splashing.
• Step 2 – Replace splash guard: For Frigidaire models with removable guards, pull out the old baffle and install a new OEM-compatible splash guard sized for your sink flange.
• Step 3 – Check alignment: Ensure the guard sits flat and evenly in the sink opening without gaps.
• Step 4 – Adjust water flow: Avoid pointing a high-pressure stream directly into the disposal opening while it is running.
• Step 5 – Test: Run water and operate the disposal. Splatter should be significantly reduced.
