Disposal causes a buzzing or humming noise from the wall switch or air switch control box

Safety first: Turn off the breaker before opening any switch boxes.

• Inspect wall switch: Remove the cover and check for discoloration, melting, or loose wires. Replace the switch with a heavy-duty, motor-rated switch if any damage is found.
• Check air switch box: If the buzzing comes from the InSinkErator air switch control box, unplug it and replace the box.
• Tighten connections: Ensure all terminal screws are snug and wires are properly wrapped.
• Test: Restore power and verify quiet operation.
