Possible Causes
New splash guard not fully seated, Wrong model splash guard installed, Rubber baffle stiff from age, Debris lodged in baffle slots
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the disposal before adjusting the splash guard.
- Seat the baffle: Press the splash guard firmly into the sink flange until it sits flat and even all around.
- Clean debris: Remove the baffle (if removable) and clean food residue from the slots with warm soapy water.
- Verify correct part: Ensure you are using an InSinkErator splash guard designed for your specific model (standard vs. Evolution Quiet Collar®).
- Replace if stiff: If the rubber is hard and does not flex to allow food through, replace it.
