Possible Causes
Using non-InSinkErator mount with Quick Lock® disposal, Bent mounting ring or support flange, Worn or missing mounting lugs, Incorrect gasket stack-up during installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Support the disposal from below while working on the mount. Turn off power.
- Verify mount type: Ensure you are using an InSinkErator Quick Lock® sink mount compatible with your disposal model. Older or third-party mounts may not fit.
- Inspect components: Check the upper mount ring, support ring, and snap ring for bending, corrosion, or missing pieces. Replace the complete mounting assembly if damaged.
- Rebuild mount: Remove the sink flange and mounting hardware, then reinstall following the InSinkErator instructions, ensuring the correct order of gaskets and rings.
- Lock disposal: Lift the disposal into place and rotate the lower mounting ring until all three lugs are fully engaged and the unit is tight against the sink.
