Dishwasher Inlet Connection Leak
Water leaks from the side of the disposal where the dishwasher hose connects

Possible Causes
Loose or missing hose clamp, Cracked dishwasher inlet nipple on disposal housing, Split or brittle dishwasher drain hose, Improper hose size for inlet barb
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the disposal and dishwasher. Place a towel or pan under the connection.
- Tighten the clamp: Use a screwdriver or nut driver to tighten the hose clamp at the dishwasher inlet on the InSinkErator housing.
- Inspect hose: Check the dishwasher drain hose for cracks, splits, or signs of aging near the clamp area. Replace if damaged.
- Check inlet nipple: Inspect the molded plastic or metal inlet on the disposal for cracks. If cracked, the disposal housing must be replaced.
- Use correct clamp: Ensure a proper worm-drive stainless clamp is used, not a spring clamp, and that it is positioned behind the barb on the inlet.
- Test for leaks: Run the dishwasher drain cycle and the sink faucet while observing the connection.
