Possible Causes
Loose dishwasher hose clamp, Cracked dishwasher inlet nipple, Damaged dishwasher inlet gasket, Over-pressurized dishwasher drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power to the disposal and dishwasher. Avoid running the dishwasher until the leak is fixed.
- Step 1 – Locate leak: Run the dishwasher drain cycle or run water and observe the dishwasher hose connection at the disposal. Look for drips around the hose clamp.
- Step 2 – Tighten clamp: Use a screwdriver or nut driver to tighten the hose clamp securing the dishwasher drain hose to the Kraus dishwasher inlet.
- Step 3 – Inspect hose and nipple: Remove the hose and check for cracks in the hose end or the plastic inlet nipple. Replace the hose if deteriorated.
- Step 4 – Verify knockout removal: Ensure the internal knockout plug was fully removed when the dishwasher was first connected. Any remaining plastic can prevent a proper seal.
- Step 5 – Reattach and test: Reinstall the hose with a new clamp if needed, then run a dishwasher drain cycle and check for leaks.
