Possible Causes

Disconnected air tubing, Faulty air switch button, Defective air switch control module, Kinked or blocked air hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn OFF power at the breaker before handling wiring or the air switch module.

  • Step 1 – Verify outlet power: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the outlet that powers the disposal/air switch module to confirm the outlet is live.
  • Step 2 – Check air hose connections: Under the sink, locate the small plastic or rubber air tube running from the countertop button to the air switch module. Ensure both ends are firmly attached and not kinked.
  • Step 3 – Inspect for damage: Look for cuts, pinches, or water in the air tube. Replace the tube if damaged.
  • Step 4 – Test module: If possible, temporarily bypass the air switch by plugging the disposal directly into a switched outlet or using a known-good air switch module. If the disposal runs, the original air switch assembly is faulty.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty components: Replace the countertop air button or the air switch control module as needed, following Kraus installation instructions.
