Possible Causes
Loose dishwasher inlet baffle, Debris entering from dishwasher line, Air in dishwasher drain hose, Loose dishwasher hose clamp
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power to both appliances before inspecting connections.
- Step 1 – Inspect dishwasher inlet: Check the dishwasher hose connection at the disposal for looseness or vibration.
- Step 2 – Secure hose: Tighten the hose clamp and support the hose so it does not vibrate against the cabinet or disposal.
- Step 3 – Clean inlet: Remove the hose and check for debris at the inlet. Clean as needed.
- Step 4 – Test dishwasher drain: Run a drain cycle and listen. Mild water noise is normal; loud rattling may indicate loose internal parts, in which case replacement of the disposal may be needed.
