Possible Causes
Faulty wall switch, Loose wire in under-sink junction box, Tripped overload reset on disposal, Disconnected power cord
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF the breaker before opening any electrical boxes.
- Step 1 – Check reset button: Press the red reset button on the bottom of the Kraus disposal.
- Step 2 – Test outlet (if corded): Plug a lamp into the disposal outlet to confirm it has power when the switch is ON.
- Step 3 – Inspect switch and wiring: Replace a suspect wall switch and tighten all wire connections in the under-sink junction box or wiring compartment.
- Step 4 – If still dead: If power is present at the unit but it does not respond, the internal motor or control is likely failed; replace the disposal.
