Disposal continues to run after the wall switch is turned off, or turns on by itself intermittently.

Critical safety warning: Turn off the circuit breaker immediately. A disposal that runs unexpectedly is dangerous.

• Inspect wall switch: Replace the switch if it feels hot, sticks, or shows signs of arcing.
• Check wiring: Have a qualified person verify that the disposal is wired through the switch and not directly to a constant hot feed.
• Control relay: If the unit is correctly wired but still runs with the switch off, the internal control relay may be stuck closed and the control module must be replaced.
• Do not use until fixed: Leave the breaker off until the fault is corrected.
