How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Immediately turn off the switch and disconnect power at the breaker. Never attempt to free a jam with power connected.
- Visual inspection: Shine a flashlight into the chamber and identify any foreign objects.
- Remove debris: Use pliers or tongs to remove objects. Do not insert your hand.
- Manual rotation: Use the Miele jam wrench or a hex key on the bottom of the motor shaft to work the rotor back and forth until it spins freely.
- Test with water: Restore power, run cold water, and briefly operate the unit. If humming persists, the motor or bearings may be damaged and require replacement.
