Possible Causes
Deteriorated plumber's putty or gasket, Loose mounting ring, Corroded sink flange, Improper initial installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and do not operate the disposal while it is leaking.
- Confirm leak source: Fill the sink with water and observe the area where the disposal meets the sink underside. Look for drips.
- Tighten mounting ring: Slightly tighten the three mounting screws evenly. Do not overtighten, which can distort the flange.
- Re-seal flange: If tightening does not stop the leak, the disposal must be removed. Clean off old putty or gasket and apply fresh plumber's putty or install a new Miele-approved flange gasket.
- Reinstall and test: Reattach the disposal, tighten evenly, then test again with a full sink of water.
