Possible Causes
Bent or stuck impeller, Uneven food load, Loose mounting assembly, Worn vibration isolation mounts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching the unit under the sink.
- Check for foreign objects: Look into the chamber and remove any items stuck on one side of the turntable or impellers.
- Inspect impellers: Verify that all impellers swing freely and are not bent. A stuck impeller can cause severe vibration.
- Check mounting ring: From under the sink, ensure the Miele mounting ring is fully locked and evenly tightened to the sink flange.
- Examine rubber mounts: Inspect the rubber vibration isolation mounts between the disposal and mounting bracket. Replace if cracked, hardened, or missing.
- Test with water only: Restore power, run water, and briefly operate the unit empty. If vibration persists, internal imbalance may require replacement of the grinding plate or entire unit.
