Safety warning: Switch off power at the breaker and allow the unit to cool before touching the housing.

• Allow cooling period: Leave the disposal off for at least 30–45 minutes to allow the internal thermal protector to reset.
• Improve ventilation: Remove stored items blocking airflow around the disposal. Ensure cabinet vents are not obstructed.
• Check for mechanical drag: With power off, rotate the turntable manually. Resistance or grinding noises indicate bearing wear, which increases heat.
• Usage habits: Avoid running the disposal continuously for long periods. Process waste in short bursts with plenty of cold water.
• Persistent F08: If overheating recurs quickly, the motor or thermal protector may be failing and the motor assembly should be evaluated or replaced by a technician.
