How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the disposal at the switch. Do not put your hands into the disposal.
- Clean splash guard:
- Remove the Moen splash guard/baffle if it is removable.
- Scrub both sides with hot soapy water and a brush.
- Clean grind chamber:
- With power off, use a long-handled nylon brush and dish soap to scrub the inside of the grind chamber and grind ring.
- Deodorize:
- Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda into the disposal, followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Let it foam for 5–10 minutes.
- Rinse with hot water while briefly running the disposal.
