Moen garbage disposal is very difficult to turn with the jam-buster wrench

Safety first: Ensure the disposal is unplugged or the breaker is off.

• Apply penetrating action:
  • Spray a small amount of penetrating oil on the jam plate pivot area from inside the chamber (avoid overuse).
• Work the wrench:
  • Insert the jam-buster wrench into the bottom hex socket.
  • Apply firm, controlled back-and-forth motion; do not use excessive force that could crack the housing.
• Remove debris:
  • Once movement is achieved, remove any visible obstructions with tongs.
• Replace if seized:
  • If the jam plate cannot be freed without extreme force, replace the disposal.
