Moen garbage disposal makes a chattering or clicking noise from the air switch (if equipped) and does not start

• Inspect air tube:
  • Ensure the air tube is firmly connected to both the countertop button and the power module.
  • Check for kinks or water inside the tube; replace if contaminated.
• Bypass test:
  • Temporarily plug the Moen disposal directly into a standard switched outlet (bypassing the air switch) to confirm the disposal itself works.
• Replace module:
  • If the disposal runs when bypassed, replace the Moen air switch module.
