How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the switch and unplug the disposal or shut off the breaker.
- Free the rotor:
- Insert a jam-buster wrench or 1/4" Allen key into the bottom hex socket.
- Work it back and forth until the jam plate rotates freely.
- Clear chamber:
- Use tongs to remove any visible obstructions.
- Reset and test:
- Press the reset button on the bottom.
- Restore power, run water, and test briefly.
- If symptom persists:
- The start winding or capacitor is likely failed. Replace the disposal.
