Possible Causes
Dishwasher knockout plug not removed in disposal, Clogged dishwasher inlet port, Kinked dishwasher drain hose, Food debris blocking disposal discharge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to the disposal and unplug the dishwasher if accessible.
- Check knockout plug: Disconnect the dishwasher hose from the disposal. Insert a screwdriver into the inlet and verify the knockout plug has been fully removed. If not, knock it out and remove the plastic disc from inside the grinding chamber.
- Inspect hose: Check the dishwasher drain hose for kinks or clogs. Flush it with water or compressed air if needed.
- Clean inlet: Clear any buildup at the dishwasher inlet nipple on the Project Source disposal.
- Verify disposal drain: Ensure the disposal and sink drain are not clogged by running water and briefly operating the disposal.
