Locked Rotor with Overload Trip
Garbage disposal makes a single click or buzz and then shuts off immediately

Possible Causes
Severe jam in grinding chamber, Foreign object wedged between impeller and shredder ring, Bent impeller preventing rotation, Motor rotor seized
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the wall switch and disconnect power at the breaker.
- Manually free rotor: Insert a 1/4" hex wrench into the bottom of the Project Source disposal and work it back and forth until it rotates fully.
- Remove jammed object: From above, use tongs to remove any object wedged in the chamber.
- Reset overload: Press the red reset button on the bottom of the unit.
- Test with water: Restore power, run cold water, and briefly turn the unit on. If it still clicks off, the motor may be damaged.
