Garbage disposal runs but is unusually loud compared to normal operation

Safety first: Disconnect power before tightening any hardware.

• Check for foreign objects: Inspect and clear the grinding chamber of any debris.
• Tighten mounting ring: Under the sink, tighten the three mounting screws on the Project Source mounting assembly and ensure the unit is fully locked into place.
• Add sink support: If the sink is thin stainless, consider adding sound-dampening pads or bracing to reduce resonance.

If the noise is a harsh mechanical roar or rattle that persists after these steps, the internal bearings or impellers may be worn. Replacement of the disposal is typically more economical than internal repair.
