Garbage disposal splashes water and food particles up out of the sink opening during use

Safety first: Turn off the disposal before touching the sink opening.

• Inspect splash guard: Look at the rubber baffle at the top of the Project Source disposal (in the sink opening). If it is missing, torn, or deformed, it needs replacement.
• Replace guard: Many Project Source models use a removable splash guard that fits into the sink flange. Purchase a compatible replacement and press it into place.
• Adjust usage: Run a moderate stream of water and feed food waste gradually rather than all at once.
