Possible Causes
Foreign object wedged between impeller and shredder ring, rust build-up on impeller plate, seized shaft seal, partially burnt motor winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and confirm the unit is de-energised.
- Free the flywheel: Insert the Rangemaster-supplied hex key into the base socket and work it back and forth to free the impeller plate. Do not use excessive force.
- Remove obstructions: From above, use pliers to remove any visible foreign objects.
- Reset and test: Press the reset button, restore power, and test briefly with water. If the click persists without rotation, the motor may be damaged.
- Do not repeatedly energise: Repeated attempts can overheat the motor. If freeing the flywheel does not restore normal operation, plan for replacement.
