Possible Causes

Deteriorated plumber’s putty or sealing gasket under Reginox sink flange, Loose mounting ring, Corroded sink flange, Improperly torqued mounting screws

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and unplug the disposal if it has a cord. Place a towel or pan under the unit to catch drips.

  • Check mounting ring tightness: From under the sink, inspect the Reginox mounting ring. Tighten the three mounting screws evenly to pull the flange snug against the sink. Do not overtighten to the point of deforming the sink.
  • Test for leaks: Run water into the sink and observe the flange area. If leaking persists, the flange seal must be redone.
  • Remove the disposal: Support the unit from below, rotate the mounting ring counterclockwise to release the disposal from the sink flange, and set it aside.
  • Reseal the flange: From above, push the sink flange up and out. Clean old putty or gasket material from the sink and flange. Apply a fresh bead of plumber’s putty or install a new Reginox flange gasket as specified in the manual. Reinsert the flange and press firmly.
  • Reattach the disposal: From below, reinstall the mounting hardware and twist the mounting ring clockwise until locked. Tighten screws evenly and retest for leaks.
