• Align piping: Ensure the drain pipe is not putting sideways stress on the outlet. Adjust pipe length or support to relieve tension.
• Check for cracks: If the outlet collar on the disposal body is cracked, sealing will be unreliable and the unit should be replaced.
• Reassemble and test: Reinstall the elbow with a new gasket if needed, tighten securely, run water, and check for leaks.
