Possible Causes
Loose discharge flange screws, Deteriorated rubber discharge gasket, Misaligned discharge elbow, Cracked discharge outlet collar
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and place a towel or tray under the discharge connection.
- Check coupling tightness: Tighten the metal band clamp or slip nut that secures the discharge elbow or straight connector to the Reginox outlet.
- Inspect gasket: Remove the discharge elbow and examine the rubber gasket or O-ring. Replace if it is flattened, cracked, or missing.
- Align piping: Ensure the drain pipe is not putting sideways stress on the outlet. Adjust pipe length or support to relieve tension.
- Check for cracks: If the outlet collar on the disposal body is cracked, sealing will be unreliable and the unit should be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the elbow with a new gasket if needed, tighten securely, run water, and check for leaks.
