Possible Causes
Bone fragments wedged in shredder ring, Coins or small metal objects stuck under impeller, Fibrous food wrapped around impeller, Hardened grease binding rotor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the wall switch and breaker. Never put your hand into the disposal.
- Use the service wrench: Insert the Reginox hex wrench into the bottom shaft socket and work it back and forth until rotation becomes smooth.
- Remove foreign objects: From the sink opening, use pliers or tongs to remove any visible obstructions such as bones, utensils, or fibrous clumps.
- Reset overload: Press the reset button on the bottom if it has tripped.
- Test operation: Restore power, run cold water, and briefly switch the unit on. If humming persists, the motor may be damaged and the disposal should be replaced.
