Garbage disposal turns on by itself or runs unexpectedly without the switch being operated.

• Inspect wall switch: Replace any switch that feels hot, loose, or shows signs of arcing.
• Check air switch system: For air-activated Reginox models, inspect the air tubing and control box for moisture. Dry thoroughly and replace tubing if waterlogged.
• Review wiring: Ensure the disposal is wired to a dedicated switch and not tied into another circuit incorrectly.
• Control module replacement: If an internal relay is stuck closed, the electronic control module may need replacement.
