How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before removing the switch cover.
- Step 1 – Inspect switch: Remove the wall switch plate and check for loose wires or signs of burning.
- Step 2 – Tighten connections: Secure all terminal screws and ensure the live feed and switched live are correctly placed.
- Step 3 – Replace switch: If the switch feels loose, does not click positively, or shows discoloration, replace it with a suitable rated switch.
- Step 4 – Test operation: Restore power and test the disposal from the new switch.
