Partial Drain Blockage Downstream
Disposal runs but water backs up into the sink and drains very slowly, even when the unit is off.

Possible Causes
Grease buildup in horizontal drain line, Obstructed P‑trap, Inadequate pipe slope, Food debris lodged at wall stub-out
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power to the disposal before disassembling any plumbing.
- Step 1 – Test without disposal: With the disposal OFF, run water. If it still drains slowly, the blockage is in the plumbing, not the disposal.
- Step 2 – Clean P‑trap: Remove and clean the trap as described in the E06 procedure.
- Step 3 – Snake the line: Use a small drain auger to clear the pipe from the trap to the wall connection.
- Step 4 – Avoid chemicals: Do not use caustic drain cleaners, as they can damage seals and the disposal housing.
- Step 5 – Reassemble and test: Refit all pipes, run plenty of water, and verify that the sink drains freely.
