Possible Causes
Loose dishwasher hose clamp, Cracked dishwasher inlet nipple on disposal, Split dishwasher drain hose, Missing or hardened inlet gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power to both disposal and dishwasher. Place a tray under the connection.
- Step 1 – Tighten clamp: Tighten the hose clamp at the dishwasher inlet on the disposal.
- Step 2 – Inspect hose: Remove the hose and check for splits or pinholes near the end. Trim and reattach if damage is near the tip, or replace the hose.
- Step 3 – Check inlet nipple: Inspect the plastic or metal nipple on the disposal for cracks. If cracked, the disposal body must be replaced.
- Step 4 – Test with dishwasher: Run a short drain cycle and observe for leaks.
