Possible Causes
Uneven wear or damage to grinding plate, Foreign object stuck on one side of chamber, Loose mounting ring at sink flange, Missing or damaged anti-vibration mounts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before adjusting mounting hardware.
- Step 1 – Check for foreign objects: Inspect the chamber and remove any items as described in the metallic noise fault.
- Step 2 – Verify mounting ring: From under the sink, check that the Teka mounting ring is fully rotated and locked into place. Tighten the three mounting screws evenly to pull the unit snug against the sink flange.
- Step 3 – Inspect rubber gasket: Ensure the rubber sink gasket or splash guard is seated correctly and not folded or pinched on one side.
- Step 4 – Check support: Confirm that the disposal is not hanging on the plumbing; the discharge pipe should not be forcing the unit out of alignment.
- Step 5 – Test operation: Run water and briefly operate the unit. If severe vibration continues, the internal grinding plate may be bent and the unit should be replaced.
