Mechanical Overrun / Weak Braking from Load
Disposal will not turn off immediately after switching off; it coasts for an unusually long time.

Possible Causes
Very light load and low friction due to wear, Worn bearings reducing drag, Faulty soft-stop control (on electronic models), Loose grinding plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and utensils away from the sink opening until the unit has fully stopped.
- Step 1 – Observe duration: A brief spin-down of a few seconds is normal. If overrun is significantly longer than before, note any accompanying noises.
- Step 2 – Check for looseness: With power OFF, inspect the plate for excessive free play or wobble.
- Step 3 – For electronic models: If the unit is designed with a soft-stop feature and behavior changes suddenly, the control module may be malfunctioning and should be inspected.
- Step 4 – Replace if unsafe: If overrun is combined with vibration or noise, replace the unit to avoid internal failure.
