Possible Causes
Failed control PCB in Teka disposal, Moisture ingress into control housing, Damaged wiring harness between switch and control, Voltage spikes or surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Electronic modules can retain charge; avoid touching exposed circuitry.
- Step 1 – Power cycle: Turn OFF the breaker for 5 minutes, then turn it back ON. This can clear transient electronic faults.
- Step 2 – Inspect control housing: Locate the Teka control box (usually mounted under the sink). Check for condensation, water drips from the sink, or corrosion on connectors. Dry the area thoroughly and correct any leaks above.
- Step 3 – Check wiring harness: Ensure the multi‑pin connector from the disposal to the control box is fully seated and not damaged. Look for pin corrosion or broken insulation.
- Step 4 – Test switch input: Operate the wall or air switch and listen for a relay click in the control box. If no click and E05 persists, the PCB is likely faulty.
- Step 5 – Replace control module: If all external wiring is sound and E05 remains, the control PCB must be replaced with the correct Teka spare. This should be done by a qualified technician to ensure safe earthing and insulation.
