Possible Causes
Blocked dishwasher inlet nipple on disposal, Knockout plug not fully removed during installation, Clogged air gap or high loop, Kinked dishwasher drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power to both the disposal and dishwasher. Close the water supply to the dishwasher if you will disconnect hoses.
- Step 1 – Inspect dishwasher hose routing: Ensure the hose from the dishwasher to the Teka disposal has a high loop or air gap and is not kinked or crushed.
- Step 2 – Check for knockout plug: If the disposal is newly installed and the dishwasher does not drain, remove the dishwasher hose from the disposal inlet and verify that the internal knockout plug has been fully removed. If not, carefully knock it out with a screwdriver and hammer, then remove the loose piece from inside the disposal.
- Step 3 – Clean the inlet nipple: Use a small screwdriver or brush to clear any food buildup inside the dishwasher inlet on the disposal.
- Step 4 – Clean air gap (if fitted): Remove the air gap cap on the sink and clean any debris. Flush with water.
- Step 5 – Test dishwasher drain: Reconnect the hose securely with a clamp, restore power, and run a short dishwasher drain cycle to confirm proper flow and that E07 clears.
