Possible Causes

Tripped circuit breaker, Blown internal thermal fuse, Faulty Tweeny power module PCB, Damaged power cord or plug

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Always switch OFF the wall switch and turn off power at the circuit breaker before working on the disposal. Never put your hand into the grinding chamber.

  • Step 1 – Check household power: Verify the kitchen outlet or switch circuit breaker is not tripped. Reset the breaker if necessary.
  • Step 2 – Inspect the power cord: If your Tweeny disposal uses a plug, unplug it and inspect the cord and plug for burns, cuts, or loose prongs. Do not use if damaged.
  • Step 3 – Test the outlet: Plug in a lamp or small appliance to confirm the outlet has power. If no power, contact an electrician.
  • Step 4 – Check internal reset/thermal fuse: Some Tweeny models have an internal reset accessible via a small button on the bottom or side. With power OFF, press the reset button firmly. Restore power and test.
  • Step 5 – Inspect power module PCB: If the indicator LED remains off and power is confirmed at the outlet, the Tweeny power module PCB or internal thermal fuse may be open. This typically requires disassembly of the lower housing and should be done by a qualified technician.

If the unit still shows no signs of life after these checks, replacement of the power module or complete disposal unit is usually recommended.
