Possible Causes

Defective start relay on Tweeny control PCB, Open motor start winding, Loose internal wiring harness connector, Failed start capacitor (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the switch is OFF before opening any covers.

  • Step 1 – Confirm jam-free: Rotate the motor shaft with the jam-buster wrench to ensure it spins freely. If it is stiff, treat as a jam issue first.
  • Step 2 – Inspect wiring harness: Remove the lower cover of the Tweeny unit. Check that all spade connectors and harness plugs are fully seated on the motor and control PCB.
  • Step 3 – Check start capacitor: If your model has an external capacitor, inspect for bulging or leakage. Replace with an identical µF and voltage rating if defective.
  • Step 4 – Evaluate control PCB: If the relay clicks but the motor does not receive power (requires multimeter testing), the start relay or PCB is faulty. PCB replacement is usually more economical than component-level repair.

If you are not comfortable working with live electrical testing, contact a qualified appliance technician to diagnose and replace the control PCB or motor.
