Garbage disposal hums loudly but does not grind, then trips the reset button

Safety First: Immediately switch OFF the unit. Unplug or turn off the breaker. Never put your hand into the disposal.

• Step 1 – Use jam-buster wrench: Insert the Tweeny jam-buster wrench or 6 mm Allen key into the bottom hex socket. Rotate back and forth until movement becomes smooth.
• Step 2 – Remove debris: From the sink opening, use pliers or tongs to remove bones, utensils, or other hard objects.
• Step 3 – Reset and test: Press the reset button on the bottom, restore power, run cold water, and test briefly.
• Step 4 – Prevent recurrence: Avoid putting large bones, fruit pits, or non-food items into the Tweeny disposal.
