Possible Causes

Deteriorated sink flange gasket, Loose Tweeny mounting ring, Improper plumber's putty seal, Corroded sink flange

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Turn OFF power and do not operate the disposal while it is leaking.

  • Step 1 – Confirm leak location: Run water without operating the disposal and look for water seeping around the sink flange above the unit.
  • Step 2 – Tighten mounting ring: Use a mounting wrench or screwdriver to evenly tighten the three mounting screws on the Tweeny mounting ring.
  • Step 3 – Reseal flange if needed: If tightening does not stop the leak, support the disposal from below, release the mounting ring, and remove the sink flange. Clean old putty and reseal with fresh plumber's putty or replace the Tweeny flange gasket as specified.
  • Step 4 – Reassemble and test: Reinstall the flange and mounting assembly, tighten evenly, then test for leaks.
