Possible Causes
Broken internal drive coupling, Stripped motor shaft connection, Manufacturing defect after severe jam
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF and disconnect power before inspection.
- Step 1 – Check from top: Look into the chamber while briefly turning the unit ON (use extreme caution and only for a second). If you hear the motor but the plate does not move, the coupling is likely failed.
- Step 2 – Manual rotation: With power OFF, rotate the plate with a wooden tool. If it spins freely without motor resistance, the internal connection is broken.
Internal couplings on Tweeny disposals are not user-replaceable. Replace the entire unit.
