Garbage disposal runs but water drains very slowly even when not grinding food

Safety First: Turn OFF and unplug the disposal. Place a bucket under the trap.

• Step 1 – Remove and clean trap: Disassemble the P-trap and discharge elbow from the Tweeny unit. Scrape and flush out grease and sludge.
• Step 2 – Use a drain snake: Run a small snake into the wall pipe to clear further buildup.
• Step 3 – Reassemble and test: Reinstall piping with new washers if needed and test drainage with hot water.
