Possible Causes
Bent grinding plate, Missing or stuck impeller lug, Loose Tweeny mounting ring, Uneven sink flange installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF and disconnect power before adjusting mounts.
- Step 1 – Check for foreign objects: Clear any debris from the chamber as described in noise troubleshooting.
- Step 2 – Inspect impeller lugs: Ensure all lugs are present and pivot freely. A missing lug can cause imbalance.
- Step 3 – Tighten mounting assembly: Use the mounting wrench to tighten the Tweeny mounting ring evenly. Verify the unit is firmly attached and not cocked to one side.
- Step 4 – Check sink stability: Ensure the sink itself is securely fastened to the countertop.
If vibration continues, the grinding plate may be bent and the disposal should be replaced.
